Macro: Move back 2 seconds and play

Hi,

I’m wondering if there is the ability to create a shortcut with the command “rewind 2 seconds” + “play”.

This would be incredibly useful as I often end up doing this when editing podcasts to ensure that a cut isn’t noticeable.

If you are cutting a bit out from a track, you can test the cut before doing it with “Cut Preview” (shortcut “C”).

  1. Select the section you wish to cut
  2. (optional) press “Z” to adjust the selection to zero crossing points if possible (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/select_menu_at_zero_crossings.html)
  3. Press “C” (Cut preview)
  4. Delete
