Ensure that you have the correct device selected for playback in the device toolbar.
Note that when using USB devices, the device should be connected before you open Audacity.

If you have a problem on Windows then please post in the Windows board and stay in the one topic. I merged this post back here for you.
There is no Audacity “2.3.5”. Please look at the pink panel at the top of this page and give us the correct version of Windows and the correct version of Audacity. If you mean Audacity 1.3.5, we can’t help you with that because 1.3.5 is long obsolete. Please update to the latest Audacity 2.0.6 version: Audacity ® | Download for Windows.
Try choosing MME or Windows DirectSound host in Audacity’s Device Toolbar. Turn the output slider up in Audacity’s Mixer Toolbar:
Note that you seem to have disabled your motherboard audio. You will hear no sound if you connect to the headphones or speakers of the computer.
Gale
it`s 2.0.5 version
If you are still stuck, please also give us the exact version of Windows.
Gale
it`s 2.0.5
i ve turned the sound up but still no sound enabled the on board card i am on windows 7
Where and how are you trying to listen? Do you have headphones plugged into Fast Track?
Try Generate > Tone > OK in Audacity. Can you hear that in Fast Track?
If the headphones have a volume control, turn it up. Turn up the headphone output knob on the Fast Track.
Gale
I have the headphones plugged into the fast track and i`ve put the volume on high still no sound the works normally when listening to media files.
Please use more words. Where have you put the volume on high? Tell us exactly what you are trying to do.
Do you mean you can hear the generated tone playing in Audacity in the headphones plugged into the Fast Track, but you can’t hear what you are singing in the headphones?
Or do you mean that when you sing into the Fast Track, you can hear yourself but you can’t hear the blue waves of a backing track playing in Audacity?
Have you looked at the Fast Track manual? Is it Fast Track or Fast Track Pro?
Gale
its fast track i
ve got no sound at all if i used skype people can hear but i can`t hear nothing at all during playback
In your post before last, you said or implied you could hear media files through Fast Track.
Have you tried changing the USB cable for the Fast Track? Try that. Connect to an empty USB port on the computer, not to a USB hub. If you have more than one USB port, try another port.
Otherwise, we can’t help you over the internet with something so basic. If you are not sure how to use the Fast Track after reading its manual, please visit http://www.avid.com/US/Support/Contact/audio-support.
If you believe the device is broken, please contact a qualified audio technician (look in the 'phone book). An audio technician will also be able to set up the device for you if it is not broken.
Gale
i hear nothing at all my my device is the regular fast tract and i`ve tried everything i can think of my os is win 7
There is no point continuing this. We make Audacity, not Fast Track and we are not able to access your device to see the problem at first hand. Please try M-Audio or an audio technician as suggested.
