M-Audio Air Hub interface not popping up on Audacity

Hello,

I am trying to set up a podcast where I use two separate mics (Blue Yeti and Blue Snowball). I connected both of the mics to the audio interface and connected the interface to my computer. When I open up audacity I’m trying to figure out how to use both of the mics at the same time and can’t get it to work. The interface shows up in the playback, but for the recording input it only shows the blue yeti or the blue snowball. I’m not sure if this is an audacity question or m audio question, but thought I would ask here first to see if I could get it to work. I am on windows 11 and I installed the driver from m-audio for the air hub

You cannot record with two USB mics at the same time on Windows.

What you can do is process those two mics into a program made to do that (like Voicemeeter) and use the output of that program as the audio source.

There are some very good tutorials on using VoiceMeeter here: pride48.com/training

Ah okay so I got voicemeeter set up and have it open, but whenever I press record in audacity it’s not showing any audio being picked up. Maybe I have my input in audacity not set up correctly, but not sure.

When Voice Meeter Banana is running…

All audio inputs that have B1 enabled are output to the Voice Meeter Output virtual device.

All audio inputs that have B2 enabled are output to the Voice Meeter Aux Output virtual device.

Add both USB microphones as inputs and enable B1 on both of them.

To record audio…

Open the Audacity application.

Click the Audio Setup button.

Click Recording Device.

Select VoiceMeeter Output. Do not select VoiceMeeter Aux Output.

That worked thank you so much for your help!

You are welcome.

Consider yourself fortunate that you didn’t buy two identical USB microphones. On Windows you just can’t do that.
