Using Win 10, and Audacity 2.3.3. When I am recording a new track while monitoring with headphones in G-Track Pro,
the new track and and previous track(s) sound a half step lower.
This only happens when using the G-Track as the output. (Playback sounds fine - at the right pitch.)
I deleted and re-installed Audacity - same result.
I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it - a generic USB driver. My sample rate is 44,100. I don’t think
the issue is with the mic. I tried it on my PC at work, and it doesn’t do that, but, don’t have the
very latest version of Audacity loaded. Has anyone had this issue? Thanks.

What?
The USB mic has it’s own clock (oscillator) and your soundcard has it’s own clock and if one of them is off"* it will play back at a different speed/pitch. It’s usually the “cheap” consumer soundcard that’s off, and that’s probably why your work computer is OK.
You won’t notice a problem if you record and play back on the same device.

- No clock is perfect but usually they are good enough for pitch and for tempo if the recording isn’t too long.
