No sound after applying low pass filter to my tracks. Win 7 and also on my powerbook g4 os 10.
Worked fine for a couple of projects i did but stopped working suddenly. Using settings rolloff 48 cutoff 80
version 2.0.6 with Bassboost.ny added to plugins

That will pass frequencies below 80 Hz - very low bass only.
Are you sure that you did not mean to apply a high-pass filter with those settings?
This is what I was up too:
I added 3 copys of my stereo track to audacity. I changed these 3 to mono leaving 3 mono tracks and applied the following settings
Track 1
low pass filter: rolloff 48 cut off 80
amplify: to the setting showing in the plug in
eq: flatten and apply 2 times
bass boost: frequency 60 boost 2
low pass filter: rolloff 48 cut off 80
Track 2
high pass filter: rolloff 48 cutoff 80
low pass filter: rolloff 48 cut off 100
Track 3
high pass filter: rolloff 48 cut off 100
ampilify: -5
As i said this worked fine on a few projects. Gave me a nice bass bump on track 1 and some control over the mids and highs on tracks 2 and 3.
But now the low pass filter gives me no sound, although the green level indicators are working.
Thanks Steve

I think you will need to give us some audio samples.
See here for how to do that: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/how-to-post-an-audio-sample/29851/1
here are 2 samples, before and after lowpass filter. you can hear a little sound in media player but nothing in audacity.
I am also adding a copy of my lowpass plugin. I don’t if it has become altered in some way. maybe someone can find out for me.
Thanks

Wow, that’s a really old version, but yes that works OK.
Works fine here.
What speakers / headphones / sound card are you using?
Do you have “Wow Effect” or any other effects enabled in media player?
These tracks were made on another laptop. They need more work , but basically this is how they should be when using the above settings.
track 1 and 2 have no sound in audacity on this computer.
HP/Compaq 8510p
SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio
However, using an older version of Audacity ( 2.0) on this computer, the low pass filter works .

I can’t hear tracks 1 and 2 through my laptop speakers because the frequency range is far too low for the built-in speakers, but they both play fine through my headphones or proper sound system.
What speakers / headphones / sound card are you using?
Do you have “Wow Effect” or any other effects enabled in media player?
Same here. (I only tried track 1) There is clearly low-frequency sound. I can see the waveform in Audacity and I can hear it on my headphones.
But, my laptop’s tiny built-in speakers can’t reproduce bass.
P.S.
You’ve got a dominate frequency that I calculate/estimate at 72Hz (by counting the cycles over a period of time).
Hooked the hp into the alto tx15 speakers and, volia, all the sound is there.
Thanks guys
