I am new on this group and would like to say a warm Hello to all of you.
My recurrent problem in Audacity, whatever the theme I choose, is that the horizontal scroll bar is hardly visible. Could there be an option for a much darker bar?
It is probably due to your computer’s operating system or maybe also due to the version of Audacity how the scroll bars look like.
I am using Audacity 3.6.4 on macOS 12.7.6 Monterey and on 15.1.1 Sequoia. On both systems, the scroll bars are very much darker (with a “bright” theme) or brighter (with a dark theme), so they are easily visible.
In Audacity 2.4.2 on macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra, the scroll bars are lighter but still easily recognizable (for me); they become darker when you “touch” them with the mouse ponter.
Maybe you could also create your own “theme” for Audacity? Maybe someone could support you in doing this?
Thanks for your help. Unfortunately none of my four themes on windows 10 give me satisfaction concerning the visibility of the scroll bar.
You are right, maybe someone better at programming than me ( an understatement ) could rewrite this bit of code. What is the point of having a bar that you can’t see. You waste time having to pinpoint it when you are busy working on a piece of music.
Am I the only one complaining ? Otherwise many thanks to the programers, Audacity is great.
Yes, the scrollbars are provided by some OS API that wxWidgets calls into. So we’re using some system-native thing on each platform. You can see this most easily on Windows when using dark theme: Everything that looks still very light and out of place is a native Windows UI element.
