No idea why but suddenly changing pitch deletes the sample, saving or closing causes files to have to be recovered. I’ve used it for several months with no issues… lots of error code 126-
Any thoughts on bug fixes?
The errors you’re showing here is just Audacity probing for different versions of FFmpeg. The log doesn’t show any actual errors.
The log it generates won’t send, I saved it to word if that helps?

I’m afraid crashing is back big-time, an issue v3.6.4 seemed to have solved. Whether I Ctrl A,S,W or A,S,Q makes no difference. Sometimes I’m lucky and can close a project by clicking x on the window. I tried regressing to v3.6.4 but it said my project couldn’t be opened and I had to upgrade to v3.7.0 - catch-22. What’s more, the error reporting still fails - but if it worked, would anyone take notice?
All the new features are very nice if you want them but they’re frills - the cake should first be baked properly. I know Audacity is freeware but it ought to be free of bugs as fundamental as this one.

I urge consideration of the tried-and-true system of having different versions of Audacity downloads. Alpha, Beta, Release, and Stable Release.

I appreciate the responses, I tried uninstalling 3.7.0 and reinstalling version 3.5.0.
As noted in other forum posts it wouldn’t open the file I was working on since it was created in a newer version. My work around is to reload 3.7.0 save my file as a .WAV uninstall it again and go back to 3.5.0.
It does seem more time bug fixing 3.7.0 would resolve the crashing and failure to save files, etc.
Some of the new features are desirable in 3.7.0 but too frustrating is they don’t work as intended.
Guess I’ll wait for 4.0 and hope it’s as reliable and usable as older versions have been.
