Audacity was gifted to me in the days of windows 7. I used it to put some cassette music on my computer, and that was it. Now I want to burn CDs but Audacity is asking for a user name and password which I don’t remember ever needing or saving. I don’t see an option to create new ones. What do I do?
Audacity does not burn CDs.
A username is not used in Audacity. Probably you (resp. Audacity) are trying to access audio.com, the online storage for Audacity. This is payware, Audacity is free and open source.
To burnb CDs you could download any free (or paid) programs which can do this. One could be iTunes from Apple (yes, even if you use Windows!). To burn a CD, you need to create a separate playlist for each CD and then select the burn command.
Pay attention whether you want a “real music CD” (with about 1 hr play time) or a CD containing music files (play time much longer, but not working in all players). CDs with music files play in alphabetical order. On real CDs you can arrange the songs according to your wish.
Thank you so much!!
