Windows 10, Audacity 2.1.1
USB turntable
When I’m recording my vinyl is there a way you can listen thru you headphones on your computer while you are in the process of recording? I checked the “do nothing” in the communications tab but still completely silence when recording.
You can get Audacity to “turn around” the recorded show and send it back out so you can listen. It will be late and you might get an echo in listening, but the recording should be OK. The catch is, Windows might try to send it back to the turntable instead of your headphones or speakers. Windows isn’t always rowing with all the oars in the water with sound management.
Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording > [X] Playthrough (select).

Thanks for the responses. I have started to get into the manual more so I figured out the problem. What I did was I went to the Edit tab in top left and went under preferences.
Once I was in “preferences” I clicked on the “Recording” section. In the “Recording” section I checked the Software play-through box and that enabled me to listen to my albums as they were being recorded.
