Listening to LP through PC without recording

I have an Encore Technologies USB turntable and an Acer ZS600 desktop computer running Win 8.1 Is there amny way I can lesten to an LP through my PC without recording? Thanks so much for any assistance!

Yes, but there is likely to be about 1/2 second delay between sound going into the computer (via USB) and coming out (via your sound card).
Assuming that you have Audacity set up correctly to record from the USB device and play back through your normal sound card (setting are in the device toolbar) then all you need to do is to turn on “Software Playthrough” (near the bottom of the “Transport” menu).

Moved to the correct Windows board.

You will also need to click in the Audacity Recording Meter to “Start monitoring” if you want to listen without actually recording.

If you want to listen without using Audacity, right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock, then choose “Recording Devices”. Right-click over the USB Audio Codec for the turntable, then choose “Properties”. Then click the “Listen” tab, enable “Listen to this device” and set the playback device to your computer sound device. Then OK and OK.

Thank you both, so much! Sounds a bit tinny, but I believe that is due to the poor quality stylus. Thanks again!

If you are using external computer speakers or built-in audio speakers it is more likely due to those.
