Licensing - Audio.com

Hello!

I am trying to figure out the licensing for the material in audio.com such as the sound effects.

I read through the Terms of Use and found under Intellectual Property Rights this:

6.1 The Content available through the Service is the shared property of Audio and its
Content Providers and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Content received through the Service, that isn’t modified after acquisition, may be
accessed for your personal, non-commercial use only. (emphasis my own)

Has anyone found anything about what we can do with content that we download and modify? I am not finding anything about modification specifically but I could just be missing it.

TIA!

I don’t know and I’m not a lawyer…

Too bad they don’t say what you CAN do with it…

If you need to ask a lawyer, the safest thing is not to do it.

I assume it’s OK to share with friends and family and they’ll never find out anyway. But I don’t know if it’s OK to upload to YouTube and share with everybody (modified or not).

…If you use someone else’s song on YouTube (the original recording or a version done by you.) It’s usually OK because the copyright holder has usually has an agreement with YouTube and they get paid from any advertisements instead of you.
