Keyboard Shortcuts Freezes Program

Hi there! I have Audacity 2.3.2 on Windows 10, and for some reason I’ve started having problems with using the keyboard shortcuts to record, play, and stop. Whenever I press the shortcut keys, the program suddenly refuses to work. If I’ve already pressed record using the mouse and press the spacebar to stop the recording, it will just keep recording. The minimize, maximize, and exit buttons on the top-right corner also don’t work if I do this, so I have to forcefully stop the program using task manager. Is there anything that can be done? I’ve been using 2.3.2 for five years and I want to still be able to use it. I know from my experience transfering to 2.3.2 from 2.2.1 that the files do not carry over and get corrupted, so I do not want to lose all the precious files I’ve made over the years again. Thanks in advance!

I know that keyboard input for korean/japanese/chinese has some issues which can be worked around by using legacy IME input somewhere. Are you on one of those languages?

Hi there,

Sorry for the late response. I have Japanese installed, but I don’t use the language when I’m on Audacity.

By chance if it is that problem, though, how do you input a legacy IME?
