So I’ve been using Audacity for years and never had this problem. Now its suddenly doing it all the time! I’ll just be clicking some some track to amend the live effect, or mute etc and suddenly it just whips up to the top track. So then I have to scroll all the way down to find the track I was just amending. If I’m going through all my tracks to turn on or off live effects, it’ll do it several times which is incredibly frustrating! I’ve read a similar post which pointed me the direct of the ‘Auto track height’ and ‘Auto Scroll’ settings. I’ve played with both but it hasn’t made any difference. In fact the auto height setting squished all my tracks, so I had to go through and resize them one by one lol.
If anyone has had this same issue any help would be greatly appreciated! I’m using version 3.7.8
I remember a user asking about something similar years ago. That user eventually figured out that it was a problem with the mouse or the mouse driver. I can’t find any search terms that locate the forum message.
Good to know, thanks! I’ll have a mess around with the drivers and see. It feels like it’s more of a software issue, it happens when I select a track (about 1 in 6 times) - it freezes for a moment, then suddenly it whips up to the top. Almost as if just selecting a track is a bit too much to handle, so it just freaks out and resets to the top. I’m using a pretty good spec laptop so I’m not sure why that would happen, especially when it’s never happened before now.
