Joining Mp3 Files...

I searched through the topics but I can’t figure this out and it should be very simple.

I need to join four 15 minute mp3 files in to one file. Back to back - no second of space in between or no trying to carefully drag a box next to another box. When I had a PC, this was very simple - I would select files, put them in the order I want and the files would merge/join. Unfortunately, Macs don’t have these easy programs - Audacity is the only one I can find and it can’t figure out how to do the simple things. Can anyone help? And the Wiki didn’t help either.

You’re right. I can’t do it, either.

I don’t believe Windows can do it. What program were you running? Given how sensitive Windows Media is to copy protection, it has to be an outside program.

There was a Feature Request for Import-Paste (I got the words wrong, but you get the idea). I’m not running the latest Audacity, but Audacity 2.0.3 may do that. I need to look.

Here it is. Append-Import.

Windows did do this - there are several programs that do it. I am trying to see if Mac can do this with Audacity. I can’t seem to figure it out.

You could import all of the files (File menu > Import >Audio), then use the Time Shift tool to drag the files end to end like this:

When you export the project to create a new file (File menu > Export) they will be automatically mixed together into a single file.

There’s alternatively my plug-in kicking about that is intended for such tasks:
