It play 4 min. in 10 seconds.

Hallo
I am running Ubuntu 14.04.
I have a file, recorded with Kazam and saved into mp4 format, then I separed the audio with avidemux and saved into mp3 (also ac3).
If I play the audio on smplayer or totem it works regularry, but if i try to run it on Audacity it plays the 4 minutes in 10 seconds, randomly it stop this behaviour and play ok till the end of the track.
Any hint ??

If you have an “audio selection”, then only that selected region will play (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_selection.html)
To play all of the track, ensure that either all of the track is selected, or none of the track is selected.

Hi
no selections at all, just trying to play the opened file trigger the malfunction.
Best regards

If you have a sound file that Audacity doesn’t recognize, it might play off speed. On Windows and Macs, you can install the FFMpeg software to make Audacity know about many more formats. I’m not sure how it works in Linux.

Have you tried launching Audacity from the terminal by typing:

env PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 audacity

If you get underruns noted in the terminal, try a higher number in the PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC command. If the problem is unchanged, try a lower number.
