I tried to ask a question on the forum, but as long as I was there, I tried to upgrade my copy of Audacity. I was asked to pay $64.59/year. I thought that Audacity was free. What happened.
On the home page click below the download button on the link that says:

Audacity is free, but you can subscribe to a cloud storage, which - of course - is not free. Or did you download Audacity from another source than the official website?
