Can’t plan an appropriate word to search the Effect or Nyquist database.
Pre-determined unit of time = shift forward or backward the whole selected audio band by milliseconds without any other alteration.
There are two ways of working with audio using Nyquist in Audacity:
- Processing the selected audio in Nyquist, and replacing the selected audio with the processed audio.
- Sending Audacity’s scripting commands from Nyquist to tell Audacity to do things.
Using the first approach, you can pad the beginning of the audio with silence to shift the audio to the right, or trim the start of the selected audio so that the rest shifts to the left.
Using the second approach you can cut and paste clips to different times.
The two approaches cannot easily be combined. You would generally pick one approach or the other. If you really need to combine the two approaches, this can be done by running two or more scripts in sequence using an Audacity Macro
How stupid of me! Have been inserting or removing tiny samples, but couldn’t correlate. Reminds of lore of Columbus’s Eggs.
Insertion of a pre-determined amount of silence to shift audio to the right is easily doable. The tool window helps.
Also to select an exact segment, say 5ms, for deletion at the beginning to shift the audio to the left is easy from the Selection Toolbar
.
Not required, Mr. Steve. Only one will do.
Thank you for your input, Mr. Steve.
