Is there a fix , or can I hack the code, to unlock the screens when timer-record is set?

When I set the record timer; My screen saver is prevented; I cannot change the line-in setting; I can’t enable silent monitoring; ; and I am not allowed to move the Audacity window. Why is this?

When recording, screen saver is prevented.

Is it a switch somewhere to fix this “feature”?
Is it a line of code that I can change at my own risk?
Other?

It’s built into the operating system, and not part of Audacity.

The reason for it is when you are running a multimedia program like a DVD player, it won’t shut off the screen before the movie finishes.

It would have been nice if you added “but you can go into widow and turn this feature off.” I guess that it doesn’t exist.
