"Internal PortAudio error" after upgrading to Mac Sequoia 15.4

Audacity has been working perfectly for years until I upgraded to Sequoia 15.4 (Macbook Pro M1). Now when I try record from an external audio device (Fractal FM3) I get “internal PortAudio” without fail. It works fine if I select a USB microphone but fails every time with the FM3 selected.

I have tried changing cables, and have even wiped and reinstalled my Macbook so it’s a vanilla platform. After reinstalling Audacity I get the same issue.

I’ve reported this to Appl, now making Audacity aware.

It’s a known bug as of Mac OS Sequoia 15.4 and the FM3. No fix as of yet unfortunately!
