Insufficient Permission to save Noise Gate plugin

I’ve tried to save the Noise gate plug in link on to the audacity plug in folder but when I do I get an error stating “Insufficient Permission.” Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have the latest version of audacity and I’m using OS X. Thanks!

Please, take a moment to read the pink panel at the top of the page and give us your exact version of Audacity (all three numbers) and OS X (all three numbers).

Have you tried giving the Administrator password? You can’t modify the /Applications folder otherwise, if that is where you placed Audacity.

Have you made sure you are not running Audacity from the DMG Installation: Do NOT run Audacity from the DMG!!!! ?

I’m using Audacity 2.1.1. and Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.1. To make sure I’m using the right version of Audacity, I will reinstall as listed in the link you provided. thank you.
