Installation of Gsnap On Linux

How do i install Gsnap on Linux Ubuntu?

I don’t find the plug-in directory on linux for audacity.

Please help me.

As far as I’m aware, GSnap is Windows only.

  1. Go to https://www.gvst.co.uk/gsnap.htm?pageview=selectos and get the GSnap version matching your OS - most likely “Linux/GSnap (for 64-bit VST hosts)” is the correct one.

  2. sudo cp GSnap.so /usr/local/lib/vst/. from the .zip file (create the subdirectory with sudo mkdir /usr/local/lib/vst if necessary).

  3. sudo chmod ugo-x GSnap.so to remove the superfluous executable flag from the file.

  4. (Re)Start Audacity, Open Tools/Add/Remove Plugins, locate the GSnap plugin and activate it.
