Installation error on Win 11 pro computer

I am unable to install on my Windows 11 pc. This error comes up after I select “finish”

I’ve tried several installs and deletions. How can this error be resolved?

Audacity doesn’t require ilock but some commercial plug-ins do.

Did you download from the official Official Audacity Website?

I downloaded “without Muse Hub” and the install file is named:
audacity-win-3.7.0-64bit.exe

Hi Thank you for responding. Yes I did download from the official site. My download file was audacity-win-3.7.0-64bit.exe

I downloaded fresh copies of that file; that same error appeared every time. The program says it’s installed, but won’t open when I’m done. Instead that same message appears each time.

OK, I now see “Searching for plug-ins” in your screenshot.

I don’t know know how to stop it from searching (and finding) plug-ins, but there’s a plug-in it doesn’t like.

Do you know what plug-ins you have that require iLock? Those plug-ins probably aren’t compatible with Audacity anyway but you probably need them for a DAW. :frowning:

I do have Ableton Live 10, along with a bunch of plugins. I also have other software, including Trillian (by Spectrasonics), and Band In A Box (not sure how many plug ins are associated with those programs).

I want to use Audacity because I don’t have the time to keep working with Ableton. A lot of what I want to do is not complicated, and learning a DAW is labor intensive. I haven’t used Ableton for a while. Audacity worked on my pc about 2 years ago but is not running for me now.

Thank you for your help with troubleshooting
