I attempted to record a podcast last night with a friend and we were using Skype to do the show. When I listened back to the show after we were done recording, his part was not in there. Is there anyway to make sure that when I record a future podcast that I am able to hear on the play myself and my friend, since he uses Skype?

I’ve never tried anything like this myself, but I understand you are going to have problems recording both sides of Skype and may need some special $oftware. Check out this link:

I wonder if your friend could record the session as well, then you could get together and mix the two recordings manually ?
