I’m currently using 3.7.8 because something happened and my old reliable 3.3.3 suddenly became the newer version I downloaded when it first came out.!!! I know this discussion came up before but I ignored it because I didn’t need it. So now where do I get a clean copy of 3.3.3 and are there any issues with Win 11. I want to be able to use both versions as needed.
The old versions - which were available from the GitHub site of Audacity - seem to be no longer available. However, could you please explain what is wrong with 3.7.8 in your opinion?
I can’t tell you about Windows 11 because I do not use Windows. But you could read through the list of changes on this website.
Edit: I just see that if you click on “Assets” at the bottom of any version in the changes list, you are presented with the related downloads…
This should take you to Audacity 3.3.3 files on GitHub
You need to ensure one (or both) versions have a “portable settings” folder.
Otherwise the different versions will overwrite each other’s settings. ![]()
