I Don't Know What I'm Doing. Need Help With One Issue

I’ve been using Audacity for nearly ten years. By using I mean I record something with it once or twice a year. Some years. so I really have no idea what I’m doing and I ask your forebearance.

The issue since installing Audacity 3.7.4: all settings same as previous versions, but no matter what I try the recorded music is just garbage.The attached file is what I hear and see while recording and during playback. OS is Windows 11.

Uncheck “audible input monitoring” and try recording again
