I can't record a stereo signal with Audacity

Hello,

Audacity has the ability to take a stereo signal?

I have a mixer Behringer Q802 USB connected via USB to my computer, the mixer I connected an iPad over 3.5 stereo jack to 2 x jack cable, if I have a song playing on the iPad than giving Audacity two mono signals so no stereo ( i can see it on the level meters ).
I do not get it together to make a stereo recording.

On my Windows 10 computer I installed a sounblaster Fx-Titanium Soundcard and ASIO4ALL.

Hope you can help me,

Thanks,

Charlie

Sorry, I don’t understand. Is the stereo mixed-down to one mono track?

Make sure Audacity is configured for 2 (Stereo) Recording Channels. If that’s OK, Right-click the Windows Volume/Speaker icon, Open Sound Settings, and dig-through the Windows settings to make sure it’s set-up for stereo.

Also, make sure your mixer channels are not panned to the center. And, if you’ve got an adapter cable with separate left/right connections into the mixer, you can unplug one at a time and watch the meters and/or plug headphones into the mixer to make sure the left & right channels are working separately. it may also be helpful to unplug the left & right one at a time, while recording.

I don’t have an iPad, but there should be a way to transfer the digital file to the computer via USB or Wi-Fi, rather than making a digital-to-analog-to-digital recording.

With the USB connection you are not using the soundcard (except maybe for monitoring). And BTW, Audacity isn’t an ASIO application. It works with the regular Windows drivers.

Hello DVDdoug,

Thanks for your reply,

Am i using the correct settings to record a stereo input?

My settings : MME - Microfoon(usb Audio Codec) - 2 recording channel stereo - loudspeaker (soundblaster X-Fi )

Are these the correct settings, because there are more options ? :

MME Microfoon(usb Audio Codec)
Windows direct sound Microsoft sound input
Windows WASAPI What U hear (creative SB X-Fi )
Digital in (creative SB X-Fi )
Stereo Mix ( Realtek High Def. )

Hope you can help me ,

Kind regards,
