I can't figure out why my sound has changed

I’m trying to record a video, and I moved to a new place during production. I made my new setup as close to the old one as possible- in my closet, using clothes and blankets to muffle echoes. I can’t fully close the closet door when I’m in it now, but I don’t think that accounts for the dip in quality. I didn’t change any settings in audacity or with my mic, but the new sound is terrible. I haven’t changed the way in which I record either.

This clip has already been bass boosted, noise reduced, compressed, etc. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? What I had before was professional quality.

If it’s a side-address mic, it could now be the wrong way around.

If it’s a multi-pattern mic (like a yeti) the pattern could have been accidentally changed.

Or you’re now too close to the (cardioid) mic and are now getting proximity effect.

Yep, I was talking into it backwards. Thank you so much!
