I’d expect most, if not all plug-ins that work with Audacity 2.2.1, to also work with Audacity 2.4.2.
Also, some plug-ins that didn’t work with 2.2.1 now work with 2.4.2.
Cmake 3.10 is too old for building Audacity, but fortunately it’s reasonably easy to install the latest version. I’ve posted step by step instructions here: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/building-audacity-2-4-2-on-debian-10-with-cmake-3-18/58352/1
If you get to step 7 and it says that you have cmake 3.18 , then you’re ready to build Audacity 2.4.2.
Don’t attempt to build Audacity 2.4.2 until Cmake 3.18 is successfully installed.
