I can hear myself while recording [SOLVED]

I recently bought a new headset as the mic in my old one broke, but along with the new headset came an issue where I can hear myself while recording in Audacity. Whatever I say, it repeats it straight into the headset while recording.
Is there any way to get rid of this or do I just have to get used to it? :stuck_out_tongue:

Try turning off Transport > Software Playthrough in the Audacity menus.

I tried disabling that but I can still hear myself through the headset. Thanks for the help though!

Then right-click over the speaker icon by the Windows system clock and choose ā€œRecording Devicesā€. Right-click over the headset then choose ā€œPropertiesā€. Then click the ā€œListenā€ tab. Make sure ā€œListen to this deviceā€ is not enabled.

That is also disabled

Then look at any control panel the headset has, which may have some playthrough option.

I assume it is a USB headset but you have not given its make or model number, so we can’t help you search for a solution.

It actually was a problem with the headset, there was an option to remove the voice playback from the headset settings itself. But, thank you for the help!
