Audio Selection box for in- and output
From my former 2.3.0 Has disapeared
Audacity 2.3.0 is old.
Current version is 3.7.3, and I am using 3.6.4. There, you chose input and output in a corresponding “Audio setup toolbar”. This toolbar must be enabled in the menu
View / Toolbars / Audio Setup Toolbar
Maybe a similar thing existed already in 2.3.0 - but do not expect much support for this oldversion.
If you installed a recent version of Audacity before (re-)installing 2.3.0, the newer version will have left invalid settings that will interfere with version 2.3.0.
On Windows, the settings are in
Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\audacity\
(for other platforms, see: Preferences - Audacity Manual)
With Audacity closed (not running), delete the audacity folder from the above location, then reboot your computer. The next time you launch Audacity 2.3.0, it will recreate it’s correct default settings.
