I have the latest version of Audacity. before I was able to take a recording off of a hand held memo recorder and transfer it to Audacity, and when that was done, I was able to transfer/transport/export that as an MP3 to my Windows Media, and adequately notate the info by artist and subset of Content. Now I can;t do that–any suggestions as to how I can do that?
Is that what you’re having trouble with?
How were you doing that? How was the memo recorder connected to the computer? (USB?.. An analog connection?)
My recorders (all but one) have the ability to “look like” a USB connection or a fake drive. Just look at the listings and pull the files across.
The one exception, of course, is the sound files on my iPhone. Apple likes to pretend they’re special. For that I use iShowYou Audio Capture.
You should try not to post questions like: “I can’t do anything any more. Help.” Did you do a Windows Update and/or an Audacity Update? Or both?
Audacity 3.3.3 and 3.4.2 are the current Audacity stable releases. If you have others, you can move up or down and see if that helps. If your version is “2”, I like version 2.4.2

That’s a mistake. I use iMazing to transfer files. It reveals the iTunes hidden folder system.

The memo record connects to the computer via a USB port. When I launch Audacity it will record what I have on the memo recorder. When that is done, I can’t transfer/export it as an MP3 to my Windows media Center like I did before. When I had the older version it worked fine, and allowed me to have a main catagory/artist, and then have subsections with the dates of the recordings. How can I do that now? It doesn’t give me the option of moving anything to my Windows Media Center.
