How to search and delete duplicate tracks from streaming

Is there a mechanism to find and delete duplicate sound tracks (i.e. commercials) from recording of internet streaming?

There’s no automated way, though they are usually quite easy to see by looking at the waveform. Adjust the zoom level (http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/zooming.html) so that you can see about 10 minutes of audio, then scroll along the recording, adding labels (http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/label_tracks.html) to each bit that looks like an advert. Then you can quickly go to each labelled region, zoom in closer, select the advert audio and delete it.

Thanks, that has been my work around. I was hoping for a more automated process, but can’t have everything.
