I am attempting to rip the music track from an opera DVD for my fiend to use for rehearsal of a dance piece she is setting. I saw in a Google search that it could be done with Audacity “if you knew how to do it”. I don’t. I’d appreciate being pointed to where I can find that information.
Thanks!

For a CD, please see in the Manual - http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_opening_and_saving_files.html#fromcd . You can just drag the CD tracks from Finder into Audacity.
For a DVD I think you can still drag the VOB files from the DVD into Audacity but you will need to install FFmpeg first.
The above techniques do not work work if the CD or DVD is copy protected, or protected with some other kind of Digital Rights Management.
