Hello. I’m new to Audacity but can’t figure out what I’m sure must be a fairly simple task. I’m a musician and I want to record multiple takes of a performance and mash them up into a single best performance. The workflow that would make a lot of sense to me would be like the following:
- Line each take up to be in sync
- Solo the best one
- Select a section that can be improved. Audacity will select the same part in the other takes.
- Play that section in other takes and pick the best one to replace the one in the master take.
I’ve watched some audacity tutorials and I see how you can cut, copy, paste, split, etc, but I’m not sure how to reliably do that by eye. I’m sure Audacity has some way to help me be precise. Any guidance would be appreciated. A link to a tutorial on doing this very specific things would be great.
Thank you!
Jason
