How to lock track focus?

Hi, I running Win 7 Pro with V2.3.0 I can’t find how to keep track focus locked when using quick-play so scrolling track remains available.

After upgraded to 2.3.0 from 2.1.2 It now appears that after using the quick play function while editing that I can’t scroll horizontally until I re-select the track? (re-focus it outlined with yellow window) This back and forth to move/play/view a section becomes very tedious with this extra step. I didn’t experience this in the earlier version and now usually results in losing the highlighted section I’m working on…

To replicate, click choose a track (becomes focused w/yellow outline) then click quickplay bar at top and outline is removed. If not a bug from previous version, then how can I make it scroll anytime or not have the quickplay function remove the selected track? Have searched FAQ and manual and can find no reference to this. Thanks for any help!

It’s a bug. I’ve now logged it on the Audacity bug tracker.

I don’t see an good workaround, other than “Shift + Click” in the panel on the left end of the track that should have focus (to restore focus without losing the current selection).

Thanks much Steve, that works!
