How to insert samples at a certain time point

Hey all, first post here

I’m just trying to figure out how I can insert samples at a certain time point? I’ve got a song that I want to insert a sound clip into around the 2 minute 30 second mark, but can’t seem to figure it out. Any help is appreciated

I am running on Windows 7 btw

Thanks

I was pretty sure I knew how to do this except I can’t find the split at a particular time tool. I know there is one. It appears as a thick bar in the show and allows you to move each segment independently of the other.

Anyway, the easy way is to import the clip (it will form its own track), copy and paste it into the show where you want it. You can get it down to a fraction of a second accuracy by magnifying the main track and setting a label. The label becomes magnetic later. MUTE the clip track and play the show.

If you need it to play in place of existing work, it’s a little harder. Import the clip as before. Use the Time Shift Tool (sideways black arrows) to push the clip into position. Then use the Envelope Tool (white arrows and bent blue line) to fade the main track.

The envelope tool gives you control points to fade the show in and out. This is what a crossfade looks like between two stereo tracks.
