Could you be more specific? What are you trying to do?
Oh, sorry!
for example I have one stereo music
What to do the Left channel minus the Right channel?
In Audacity 3:
The result is one mono track that is the difference between the left and right channels.
The resul is one kind of ‘oops’ and encrease the level of the music.
Tests :
the level of the stereo source need encrease in 0,613 to have 0 dB
The job of L-R need to encrease -0,111 to have 0 dB
The job of R-L need to decrease -3,771 to have o dB
Thank you for fast answer and good will , billw58! ![]()

as i don’t know how to edit the posts here i had to do this new
don’t use “Mix > Mix and render”
After invert the channel, use “Join Stereo Tracks”
and after that use
“mix Stereo to Mono”, this will give result without clip the audio.
You can do L-R in this way and R-L in the same way!
Join the resulti in a new steroe track but you’ll have the same audio
where one channel is inverted with the other.
Cheers!
Or, insert in my steps, set the volume of each mono track to -6 dB before mixing.
Yes, set the volume of each mono track to -6 dB before mixing is a good way too,
Thank you for this new hint! ![]()
