How to disable auto update?

"Artificial stupidnes’? This has been happening since 3.6 came out, maybe earlier and really, hitting the install update every time!

I re install the previous version and when I restart the computer after shutting down, oh look, the new version is there when I start Audacity.

I do not immediately install the updates until glitches have been sorted out.

That’s not the other user I was referering to. I mean the partitioned user that’s serving adult entertainment in the background of your internet connection. The one you are going to absolutely insist isn’t there.

When was the last time you did that thorough virus scan that you start when you go to bed and takes all night?

So 3.6 or 3.7 will auto update from your stable 3.5 or earlier install? Restart the machine and the wrong Audacity appears? Do you have the 3.6 or 3.7 installers on your machine resting in a folder somewhere?
