When I was younger I used Premiere Pro a bunch and got used to the way you can double-press L to fast-forward through a clip, and I’m wondering what the best way to do this in Audacity would be.
I’ve tried using the Playback Speed slider widget, but this also changes the pitch (playback at just 2x makes me sound like a chipmunk), which makes it harder to notice when things sound strange compared to if the pitch were preserved.
Of course I can also edit the speed of a clip through the right click menu or some such, but these are permanent changes that must be reverted later, and thus aren’t ideal for one-time playback.
My question is if there’s a way to trigger playback at a higher speed, without changing the pitch, preferably through keyboard shortcut. Thanks in advance!
