How getting rid of the hard sound in djembe high notes?

(Audacity 2.1.2 on Vista)

Hi,

I have a problem with the hard sound of djembe in the higher notes. I want this sound to be as distinctive in the mix as it is but I want the higher notes to be softer. Is that possible? Anyone has any tips on how to do this because I don’t get there…

Transient-shaper plugin to make the attack less steep ?.

The free version of Couture works in Audacity on Windows,
but you’ll need the old (1.2?) version if you’re still on 32-bit Audacity.

Audio Assault’s “Transient” is easy to use, but the old free version is hard to find … https://youtu.be/d1lZmMQEeL0

Assault’s Multi Transient is on sale at Multi Transient – Audio Assault for $5.99 (from $39.99)

Hi,

I used Audio Assault’s Transient but this didn’t work enough for me. Then I tried Bittersweet by Flux and I could make the sound a bit softer. But I needed 100% of the ‘sweet’-option  So therefore I must thank you guys for your answers !!
