How do I make the track smaller?

Hello! When I added the sound effects, it made the track larger. How do I make it smaller.

Do you mean the waveform is “taller” and “louder”?

Mixing is done by summation. The result is louder and the underlying digital sample values are bigger.

You can reduce one or both tracks before mixing. And/or can use the Envelope tool to fade-down the parts where mixing is happening.

Limiting and/or compression can help too.
