How do I get Audacity 4 to start in spectrogram mode as default?

Audacity 3 could be set to show newly imported files in spectrogram mode. How do I set Audacity 4 to do the same?

As far as I know, you can’t. It’s one of a whole list of useful features that aren’t working in Audacity 4. Who knows when it’ll be reintroduced. And at the rate they’re going, if ever.

If I were you, I’d go back to using Audacity 3.XX

That is exactly what I do. I still use Audacity 3.7.9 on my main computer, but I am also evaluating Audacity 4 on a secondary system til see when (if) it gets ready for production use.

Actually the ability to set spectrogram view as default is the only show-stopper for my use, which is editing field recordings of bird songs and calls.

I would like to have the ability to set multi-view as my default, but it’s not a show-stopper. The major show-stopper for me is the keyboard shortcuts I set refuse to work.
