I’m using windows 10 and audacity 2.2.2. I know how to delete selected portions of my audio but I don’t like how it bring the other side of the audio with it. Is there a way i can lift the audio so there is just a blank space of nothing?
It’s called “Split Cut” or “Split Delete” and you will find it in "Edit menu > Remove Special > "
The difference between “Cut” and “Delete” is that “Cut” makes a copy of the audio that has been cut to Audacity’s clipboard so that it may be pasted somewhere else. “Delete” doesn’t make a copy.
