HOW DO I CHANGE THE FILETYPE?

How on earth do I change the filetype from WMA to FFmpeg or WAV to create my own music mix in Audacity?

Please tell us what version of Audacity you are using (see the pink panel at the top of the page).

FFmpeg is not a file type. It is a library that you have to install if you want to export WMA and some other file types like M4A or AC3.

If you don’t have FFmpeg yet, see Audacity Manual.

Assuming you are using the current Audacity 2.1.2 from Audacity ® | Download for Windows, follow Audacity Manual for how to export. Make sure the file extension you export is correct, because Audacity may show AIFF extension if you choose “Other uncompressed files”.

Thanks Gale, I’ll try doing that. Get back if I can’t succeed!
