How can I shut out the function which automatically adjust audio clip speed WITH NO CONFIRMATION?

I was pasting some audio clip from some files.

Then, after refusing to treat the data as (xy.z)BPM, audio clip speed was adjusted with no confirmation.

this is not the way I want audacity to do.

How can I shut this function off?

Unfortunately there is no direct way to do that - it’s basically a bad design flaw that muse group can’t be bothered to fix.

The workaround is:

  1. In the Import / Export Preferences, set " Music Imports" to “Do Nothing”
  2. Ensure that the [Timeline Ruler(Timeline - Audacity Manual) is NOT set to “Beats and Measures”.
  3. Disable the Time Signature Toolbar in “View Menu > Toolbars”.
