But Steve those samples had already had the recipe applied to them once your application of it again was a second run. On the original untreated recording Sound Finder would not find then until I increased the silence db to 22
“Normalize” will bring the maximum peak in the selection up to the specified level (-1 dB in our recipe).
In the sample that you posted the maximum level is about -21 dB.
I presume that when you applied “Normalize” there was some point in the selection (not included in the extract that you posted) that was much louder (bigger peak level) than the section that you posted. In such a case you will need to remove that loud peak before you Normalize, or ensure that the loud peak is not in the selection that you are Normalizing.

Thanks for your message.
I’ve found by trial and error that by setting the db to 26 I get an acceptable result. I know that one or two minor barking events may be missed but the louder more persistent ones are found and that’s quite sufficient for what I need.
