I’m going crazy trying to figure this out…I’ve used Audacity for years but only recently started up again on Win11 and I’m having a strange issue.
I created a drum track for a song using hydrogen, which I then exported as a .wav. When I import this wav into Audacity, it’s there and it’s fine, sounds good. But when I then try to record in Audacity, I get an unanticipated host error, which say ‘error opening recording device’. Interestingly, I am able to record and I do not get this error if I record without importing the .wav file. Also, if I import the wav file and DISABLE ‘hear other tracks when recording’, I am able to record. Unfortunately I need to hear the other tracks!
I’ve tried messing with sample rates, making sure that they all match up with my Windows settings. I’ve tried an afternoon’s worth of changes but I cannot get past this. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’d be so appreciative, and I’m happy to give more info if it’s helpful!
