Even opening Audacity without a file causes massive RAM use. I can be listening to an MP3 via another player and the sound disappears until Audacity opens. On saving only a small MP3 in Audacity, the computer almost locks up because the program uses so much memory. I’ve had this weirdness with Audacity since I first installed the program over a decade ago. No other, similar, program affects the computer in this way. I’ve also noticed another problem with the latest Audacity release. A release I need in order to utilise the AI plug in. When using enhance Bass/Treble the display reverts to the old basic look. This makes it more difficult to set up and is no longer user friendly. BTW, I’m quite ancient and not computer savvy, so please bear with me if my terminology isn’t up to scratch!
