Hi everyone, I need help to identify which tools to use for enhancing / repairing an audio file- I’am a total beguinner toward audio design, i don’t know anything about what effect can do what, neither what to do to improve to correct the sound, I don’t handle at all the technical vovabulary of sound - My file is a about 50mn- I have extracted it from a video made around 2000 for a documentary in Brasil. I’d be very grateful if I could get your help frpm teh community. I can obviously share the file so that you could tell what needs to be done on it- It’s a life time project I can’t wait to start and create. Thanks in advance!!
If you have a Google account you could upload your file to your Public folder on Google Drive and post the link to it.
Many thanks for this practical advice - Here it is
I listened to some parts of the audio. I would have no idea how to improve it. It might need sophisticated tools like Izotope or some AI tools maybe.
Thanks again for your feed back - What would help me more with this other tool if i don’t catch a word of WHAT needs to be done?
I’am at the moment using the free trial of Audacy
I’m sorry but I don’t understand what you mean by this. I had a quick look at an AI tool that can be used within Ocenaudio but I couldn’t hear a lot of difference. The audio presents many challenges which may be hard to fix. Is it possible to find the documentary again and try to extract better audio from it?
If you mean Audacity, there is no free trial. The software itself is free.
thanks for keeping an eye on me
- You’re the only one I kept interest on this project.
Yes I meant Audacity - I signed up for a 7 days free trial ending on sunday that i can cancel before that - I assure you, they had a plan for me to pay after that .![]()
Any way..
To your question ;" Is it possible to find the documentary again and try to extract better audio from it?
The answer is Yes of course ! I did it with Clipchamp, and i had also to slow the speed whitch has been unfortunately recorded like this by who made the all recording , I am sure we can do easily better - In the file originally send I had manage to slow to 0.6
Here is the the link to the full original recording video and audio - A bit heavy so I had to clean Google drive
Did you manage to access the file?
This is not a trial for Audacity, but for Muse’s online services. As @evilmrb already said, Audacity is free software.
OK yes - Thanks - Its not really the issue i am concerned with - Can you help?
I did but it is not something I can fix, I’m afraid. I hope someone with more knowledge can help. As I said before, I don’t know how or if the audio can be fixed. Sorry.
Ok.Don’t be .
Thanks a lot for having tried at least
I have heard stories from people who said that Adobe Enhance has preformed miracles on audio. It is free, but you have to create an Adobe account, and that company is well known for tricking people into paying $200 to $300 a month unknowingly, so definitely proceed with caution.
The free version is quite limited, or there’s a 30 day trial for the premium version (then $10/month).
