I’m recording on a Yeti Blue USB mic, and using Microsoft Surface 2 laptop. When I start recording and go to play it back, I hear this annoying feedback noise behind the vocals. It’s hard to describe, but it’s like some weird “wee-woo” noise. How can I fix this issue?
That noise is at a very low level (around -67dB RMS). It’s probably electrical interference from the USB power supply. You probably need to get closer to the mic when recording, and reduce the recording level so that it doesn’t overload.

The usual Yeti treatment, mosquito killer plug-in, is not going to work: not integer multiples of 1kHz.
Spectral editing can reduce the wee-woo noise, but it will also damage speech.
